Tartan Blazer: Work vs. Play...... 12/27/17

It is hard to find stylish pieces that you can wear from work to play. It is even harder when they have a print, especially one as bold as tartan. In today’s post I am showing you how to style a tartan plaid blazer for work and for play/casual. I have styled two different looks for your viewing pleasure.
For work I paired my blazer over a knit bodycon midi dress and added nude heels and a wide waist belt to show off some curves! The waist makes all the difference when categorizing this blazer from work and play. Showing off the curvature of the waist makes the outfit dressier and makes the wearer look more put together.
For my more casual look, I added denim, which easily can downplay any look. I added some all white sneakers to keep the look fun, on trend, and of course casual. Throwing on the graphic tee and glasses were perfect finishing touches to make this look feel effortless while still looking put together. The best thing about the play look is that you can move in it!
Whether work or play or both, a plaid blazer is always a winning wardrobe piece to have in your closet. You can make it be the star by keeping all other parts of your outfit minimal OR you can play off of it by adding other prints into the mix! The choice is yours! Have fun with it!
